We are a way for the cosmos to know itself.
– Carl Sagan
I’m Aditya, or Adi, a high schooler who dreams to become a scientist one day. My interests mainly lie in biology. I love living things, especially animals, both extant and prehistoric. I find learning about their evolutionary history and adaptations fascinating. However, I’m also interested in space, anthropology, the Earth sciences, and philosophy of science. I’m not entirely sure what I’ll be just yet, but I’ve considered evolutionary biology, astrobiology, marine biology, paleontology, genetics, climate science, and possibly astronomy or planetary science. Whatever field I choose, I know I have to be some kind of science communicator, not necessarily the likes of Carl Sagan, David Attenborough, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and Bill Nye- all people I idolize- but to some small extent, following in their footsteps. I have to make people appreciate all the incredible things we’ve learned, and are learning, from science, and to understand its importance. That starts here.
This blog is meant for me to talk about whatever I find interesting or important. You’ll find all sorts of topics, in all the fields mentioned above, that I want to share with you. There will be articles on dinosaurs, sharks, the search for alien life, evolution, deep sea life, fungi, DNA, and de-extinction with the occasional existential thought or book review. I’ll nerd out about things I think are mind blowing like how the atoms that make up every living thing on earth were formed within red giant stars billions of years ago, meaning we are made of starstuff, and share my thoughts on climate change and the rise of misinformation and pseudoscience. I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I enjoyed making it.
